There are certain moments in my photography career that feel like a full-circle gift, and capturing Lady C’s 40th birthday boudoir session was one of them. Years ago, I had the joy of photographing her wedding day—a celebration filled with laughter, elegance, and undeniable love. So when she reached out to book a boudoir session to mark a new chapter in her life, I couldn’t have been more excited. And today, April 23rd, is this beautiful Taurus’ birthday!!

Lady C is the definition of confidence. A successful career woman, a devoted dog mom, and someone who knows exactly who she is. She walked into the studio with a magnetic power that set the tone for the entire shoot. She booked this session for herself with a desire to celebrate the woman she is now, in all her strength, self-assurance, and beauty. That’s what made it so special.

Her style for the shoot was a perfect mix of sultry and sophisticated—soft lace, bold jewelry, and her signature elegance woven into every detail. We created an atmosphere that reflected her energy: effortless, chic, and empowered. From the very first frame, it was clear that this was going to be a session that would be about owning the moment. The camera absolutely adored her—every laugh, every glance, every movement spoke volumes. There was playfulness, poise, and power. Watching her embrace every aspect of herself was as inspiring as it was beautiful.  I believe that celebrating yourself is not only allowed, it’s necessary.

This 40th birthday boudoir session wasn’t just about capturing stunning images (though, wow—did we ever!). It was about documenting a gorgeous woman in her element. I especially loved capturing her different meaningful tattoos. And her beautiful lingerie sets were from Femme Fatale Intimates on South Broadway. Check them out! The black set she got was HOT! I adore the earrings she paired it with.

After the session, she shared how empowered she felt. That’s the true magic of boudoir: it’s not just about what happens in front of the lens. It’s about the way you feel when you leave. Boudoir can be transformative, affirming, and wildly freeing—especially when it’s done for no one but yourself.
